BEHIND

BLUE EYES

XXX

For more than two decades, Konstantin Bax has been captivating a steadily growing international audience with his layered, multidimensional paintings. Bax is considered one of the most exciting bridge-builders in contemporary art, connecting mysticism and modernity, technical mastery and raw emotional power. His works are visual meditations on what unites us in a world that often feels like it’s drifting further apart.

At the heart of his work is always the human being in search of inner transformation. His paintings explore the tension between dream and reality, between figuration and abstraction – often with a hypnotic effect. His expressive brushwork, combined with a deep love for detail, draws viewers into an intense, almost meditative dialogue. The legendary artist Ernst Fuchs once described Bax’ paintings as “Windows into Infinity”.

Each of his pieces is more than just a painting – they are logbook entries from a spiritual expedition into the unknown, markers along the path toward a deeper understanding of the universe and our place within it.

“Your art seems to be born before its time, very premature I would say. It is perhaps a portal to a universe where there is no limit to the imagination, or rather;
an imagination that knows well of limits and borders but knows with wisdom to surpass them in a sensual, aesthetic and extremely subtle way, aimed at an audience that appreciates the value of existence at an intuitive and spiritual level.

My most sincere congratulations, you have a gift in your interior superior to many artists and painters, in the artistic community of our generation and from our past.”

Konstantin Bax was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, in 1979.

His artistic journey reads like a mosaic of remarkable encounters. In the 1970s, his father was friends with the legendary Salvador Dalí. Konstantin himself later crossed paths with Prof. Ernst Fuchs, the renowned Viennese master of Fantastic Realism, with whom he worked for some time as his assistant.

While studying interior architecture, Konstantin spent a formative semester abroad at Arcosanti, the experimental architecture community in Arizona. There, he explored alternative urban concepts under Paolo Soleri, a former master-student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Over the years, this unique place became a second home. The vast and powerful landscape around the Grand Canyon turned into a deep source of inspiration—both for his art and his personal growth.

Since 2006, Konstantin has lived and worked in Hamburg. His work has been exhibited in cities worldwide including Los Angeles, Denver, Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Chiang Mai, and Vienna. His highly sought-after original works are held in private collections across multiple continents.
